Over the Hill- The Artist Ride in Wall, South Dakota recreates scenes from a time gone by and affords artists an opportunity to photograph material for future paintings. The Shearer Ranch has an incredible herd of longhorns that the wranglers herded up and down the hills so we could photograph them in action.  This painting took months to complete.  Friends would call to check in and ask, “what number cow are you working on today?” There are 11 in all in this painting.
