Bruce's Sunflowers - Canvas

Bruce's Sunflowers- I occasionally paint with fellow artist and friend Bruce Marion, and our paintings in this session were florals created against a dark background. I started the background with deep purple and black, then added a dab of ultramarine blue next to one of the yellow petals. I liked the effect so much I expanded the blue to weave in and out of the petals and vase which gives the painting an ethereal feel.
