Fountain Blue was inspired by a Tucson Museum of Art designer show house on River Road. I was commissioned to paint a desert scene for the living room, and when I visited the show house, noticed this beautiful fountain and courtyard in the backyard. 

I painted this fountain scene using only two colors— cobalt blue and cadmium orange— to create a serene, moody vibe with these “complimentary” colors. I then added a splash of red in the flower bed for a bit of drama.
