Heartland II- Canvas

Heartland II – Desert scenes from the Santa Catalina mountains and the Tucson Mountains. I used a brush and then a palette knife to build up the texture on the canvas. When the viewer wanders through this tranquil desert scene, hopefully they will experience a few moments of respite. The name of the painting has two meanings for me: After living in Tucson for more than 40 years, the desert truly is my “heartland;” and, while I painted this, I listened to the 13-season odyssey on Netflix called “Heartland.”
