Maiden at the Falls- Canvas

Maiden at the Falls-The prestigious Artist’s Ride invites 50 artists every year to a sprawling ranch in Wall, South Dakota for the express purpose of providing photographic reference material for southwest artists.  I was one of the lucky ones to receive an invitation and have attended three times.  Cowboys, Indians, cavalry, and stagecoaches dot the makeshift 1800’s village for four days as artists have the incredible opportunity to take a step back in time. This Indian maiden was one of the models at the last Artist’s Ride and I was captivated by her beauty and serenity. This is the second time I’ve painted her.
